Q. How long before my appointment should I arrive?

A. It is important to arrive around 10 minutes prior to your appointment time. This allows enough time to fill in your client details form, relax and prepare yourself for your treatment.

Q. What if I am late?

A. Arriving late will only reduce the time spent enjoying your treatment. As we have clients arriving before and after your appointment time, it is important that we respect these times.

Q. Cancellation Policy?

A. 24 hours notice is appreciated if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment.

Q. What should I wear?

A. As massage involves skin to skin contact, minimal clothing is recommended. In saying this, you must be comfortable during the massage so you wear what you need to feel comfortable. Professional draping is applied at all times to ensure your privacy is respected. If you have any concerns please speak with your therapist prior to the massage.

Q. Can I buy gift vouchers?

A. Personalized gift vouchers are available and make a great gift for friends and family who you think may enjoy and benefit from a massage. Gift certificates are available for all therapies.

Q. Will I feel any pain during my massage?

A. This will depend on the type of massage you are receiving. When having any relaxation treatment you should feel no pain at all. Sports massage, deep tissue or remedial treatments may involve some minor pain. The amount of discomfort felt will depend on a number of factors such as: your age, fitness, exercise regime, any injuries involved, overuse, scar tissue and several other reasons. Remedial treatments involve using strong pressure to release tension and may feel slightly uncomfortable.

Q. How will I feel after my massage?

A. How you feel afterwards depends on the type of massage you are receiving, any injuries involved, your level of fitness and health, and the frequency at which you have your massage treatments. In some rare cases you may feel a little light headed or nauseas after their treatment if you have not had a massage before or for a while. (This is due to a release of toxins from the muscles). You should leave feeling relaxed and refreshed after your massage.

Q. How often should I have a massage?

A. This truly depends on how you treat your body. We often spend time and money fixing equipment to make it more reliable and faster and, but we often forget about ourselves and neglect our most important asset, our body.
If you are an elite sports person and expect you body to keep you at the top of your game, a weekly massage will help you stay at the top of your game and reduce the risk of injury.

If you exercise regularly or play sport on a social level, then a fortnightly massage will be better suited to you.

If you do the odd workout for your own personal fitness, then you will be more suited to a monthly massage.

And even if you don’t have a regular exercise program, but have an active busy lifestyle, then a massage six to eight weeks is going to do you the world of good.

This however is just a guide, only you know your time constraints, your budget and the workload you expect from your body.

Q. Is it safe to get a massage while I am pregnant?

A. Yes it is safe to have a massage while you are pregnant. In fact massage during your pregnancy has many benefits, including: relief from the aches and pains that come with pregnancy, promoting blood flow, giving relief from fluid retention and aid in relaxation. It is also widely thought that regular massage during pregnancy can reduce the labour time.

The massage has been designed for the special needs of the pregnant woman. The massage changes and adapts throughout the trimesters, due to the changes in your body as your new baby grows.

As always if you have any concerns please speak to your medical physician.

Q. Is it safe to get a massage while or after I have been ill?

A. It is generally not recommended that you have a massage while you are ill, especially if you have a fever, as the massage may increase your body temperature. However, if you don’t have a fever you can safely have a massage, and some types of massage especially Lymphatic drainage may even assist in clearing away toxins and enhancing the role of the immune system.

Q. Is it safe to get a massage if I have a permanent medical condition such as diabetes, Multiple Sclerosis, haemophilia, etc?

A. If you have a permanent medical condition it is recommended that you mention this to your therapist when making your appointment, as you may be required to get a medical clearance from your medical physician to have a massage.

As always if you have any concerns please speak to your medical physician.
